This is a Creole folktale of two sisters one honest and generous the other dishonest and greedy.
Their behaviors are either rewarded or punished via magic eggs the one receives from an old lady in the woods and the other steals from her. This tale is similar to the Grimm’s Mother Holle. Beautiful illustrations and a Caldecott and Coretta Scott King honor book. Suggested for ages 4 and up.
