Our Stone Painting Boards are crafted from high‑quality Baltic birch and finished to a super‑smooth, perfectly flat surface—ideal for wet‑on‑wet watercolor painting. When soaked watercolor paper is placed on the board, it naturally suctions to the wood, creating a stable, even surface for painting. You can also allow the paper to dry on the board for a beautifully smooth, wrinkle‑free finish.
Each board is made locally in Wisconsin to our specifications and stamped with the Paper Scissors Stone logo on the back. They also make excellent lap desks and pair well with all sizes of watercolor paper used in Waldorf classrooms.
