The Paper Scissors Stone Team

Paper Scissors Stone is lovingly run by a small team of two women — plus Richie — who keep everything moving with care, intention, and a whole lot of heart.

Christine • Lydia • Richie

We share in the management, decision‑making, and hands‑on work that happens every day in our warehouse. When you call, you’ll likely hear Lydia or Christine’s voice. When you place an order, one of us will personally pull, pack, and ship your supplies with the same attention we’d give to our own families. Because we are such a small team, we hold ourselves to a high standard and take pride in the care we offer our customers, our community, and each other.

Philothea — Former Owner & Chief Cheerleader

From 2018–2026, Philothea carried Paper Scissors Stone with the generosity, courage, and unmistakable heart that define her. Her vision and warmth shaped the shop’s character and strengthened its service to the Waldorf community. A true community builder, she has played a key role in many local projects — including helping bring Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School into being. Though she has passed the business into new hands, her presence, care, and radiant encouragement remain part of its story.

Christine — Owner & Creative Lead

Christine is a lifelong artist and K–12 art teacher who chooses every product with real classroom experience in mind. She discovered Waldorf education in 2013 while teaching art at Youth Initiative High School, where her daughter later spent four years. As owner of Paper Scissors Stone, she focuses on materials that truly support teachers and the developmental arc of the child.

Lydia — Customer Care & Shop Operations

Lydia is the welcoming face and bright spirit of Paper Scissors Stone. She keeps the daily rhythm moving with steadiness, care, and an eye for detail. She assists customers, pulls and packs orders, and oversees the operations of the warehouse with a calm, reliable presence. An artist and musician with her own Waldorf roots, she brings warmth and intention to every part of the work.
“I had a transformative experience attending a Waldorf‑based high school and will forever look back fondly on my time there.”

Richie — Production & Warehouse Support

As part‑time Production & Warehouse Support, Richie supports the production flow to keep the warehouse humming along. He’s known for his steady, centered presence and brings that grounded energy to everything he does. A Waldorf parent, when he’s not at work, you’ll likely find him off‑grid, camping, or immersed in meditation.
