Red Rose is the cool red in our Stone watercolor line.
This beautifully concentrated hue brings clarity, transparency, and a gentle coolness to early‑grade watercolor work. As the cool half of our balanced red pair, Red Rose is ideal for color stories, seasonal paintings, and exploring warm–cool relationships in the lower grades. When paired with Vermillion Red (our warm orange red), Red Rose mixes into a clear, vibrant True Red—a foundational exercise in understanding how warm and cool tones combine to create balanced primaries.
Produced in the USA using high‑quality pigments and a clean, reliable liquid base, Stone Watercolor Paint is designed specifically for Waldorf watercolor painting. The formula is extremely concentrated, allowing teachers and students to adjust the strength of the color with simple dilution. For general painting, we recommend mixing 10 parts water to 1 part paint. For veil painting, use more water and allow each layer to dry before applying the next. For richer, more saturated color, simply reduce the amount of water.
Red Rose offers smooth transparency, excellent flow, and dependable performance across all watercolor techniques used in Waldorf classrooms. Its cool character supports clear mixing, gentle transitions, and expressive color stories while remaining versatile enough for structured main lesson painting.
